A Note About Allergens:

Urban Cookies Bakeshop is pleased to offer a variety of pastries made with alternative ingredients such as those made without gluten ingredients, dairy, eggs, nuts, and soy.

​

However, we feel it is important that our customers understand that our baked goods are best designed for those who prefer alternative ingredients as a lifestyle choice, and not those who are highly sensitive to food allergens or who have a medical condition.

​

Below is a list of important reminders:

 

  1. We are NOT a certified allergen-free bakery; therefore, we cannot claim that any pastry is truly gluten-free, vegan, nut-free, or soy-free.

  2. In addition, our bakery also produces non-alternative pastries, therefore cross contact occurs when the same equipment and work surfaces are used, and the same gloves and aprons are used. Cross contact can even happen when the air above contains dust and flour particles that contain allergens such as gluten. It is also possible that during handling, our alternative baked goods come into contact with other baked goods that contain allergens.

  3. Our bakery works with nearly all the major allergens including wheat, milk, eggs, peanuts, a small amount of soy lecithin that is in some of our decorative sprinkles, and most tree nuts such as, walnuts, almonds, pecans, pistachios, hazelnuts, etc.

  4. We list only the 8 MAJOR ALLERGENS in our bakery. If you have an allergy to anything other than what is listed above, please notify our team immediately.

  5. Due to the fact that we are NOT certified allergen-free, we cannot label boxes or packaging as gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, soy-free, nut-free, etc. We will however, provide customers with an information sheet that lists which pastries contain alternative ingredients.
